The Belkin laptop cooler has a fresh and unique looking design that is made to be practical. It is built rather well and does not come with metal bodies like most of its competitors use to absorb the heat. Even though it has a plastic body, it is rather well built. The body of the laptop cooler is quite sturdy and does best what it’s meant to do. It is smooth, shaped well and has two strips of rubber, both on top and bottom side of the cooler. These rubber strips help in providing a grip to the laptop and prevents the cooler from slipping or moving when kept on a flat smooth surface.
In terms of size, it supports almost all laptops, from the smallest ultra portable sizes to the largest widescreen ones. The 10 – inch EeePC fits together very well, which shows the versatility in support and compatibility of laptops. The fan, unfortunately, has no throttle control, so you’re left with the fan running at full speed. The fan itself is quiet, but vibrates a little, which tends to become annoying at times. The lowest point of the laptop touches the fan itself. This means, that the fan is blocked by what ever surface you place it on. This causes the fan to slow down and make a little more noise.
Fortunately, the stand at the rear of the laptop allows you to incline the laptop towards yourself. The other flap at the bottom opens up into a small compartment that can be used to store the small USB cable supplied with it. This is the same cable that will power the fan on the cooler. This cooler would’ve been a steal if it included a fan throttle controller along with a couple of USB ports. Nevertheless, at $45 it’s a great piece of hardware.
