Absolutely Best of the Best
2009 saw some of the most hyped, anticipated and well approved games throughout the decade. Some of the games created mass hysteria amongst the fans, while some others created mass disappointment. Every game has ups and downs, but in the end, the gamers’ opinion counts more than the developers.
Gaming is the next biggest thing and is well appreciated by its audience. The gaming industry is progressing rapidly by the day, churning out better and better games per release. Let’s roll back to the start of the year 2009, and let’s have a look at the top 5 games of 2009.
1. Unchartered 2: Among Thieves

The charismatic fortune hunter, Nathan Drake reappears in Unchartered 2: Among Thieves, which is supposedly an extension (sequel) of the first game itself. A Third person shooter with plenty of action strewn in developed by an award winning game developer, Naughty Dog, Unchartered 2: Among Thieves has broken all records when it came to games.

Exclusive to the Sony’s Playstation 3 platform, gamers (who owned a PS3) all over the world rejoiced at the sight of the first trailer of the game. An excellent all-round game development led to an extremely impressive game, with equally stunning graphics and smooth gameplay.
The camera-action has been well taken care of, and never lets you miss out on even a single artifact within the game. From an amazing single player experience to an equally remarkable multiplayer mode, this game is a complete package of fun, fun and FUN. It’s by far, the most anticipated, the most hyped and the most well received game on the PS3 platform. As everyone is talking about the new Call of Duty game coming out later this year, there is also a lot of un-verified nonsense running amuck online. Here, we are going to discuss what we will get to see in the new edition to Cod, and we will only investigate those facts which we know to be true.
First off, there have been some rumors claiming that the multiplayer leveling up system will be more rpg based. For example, you would acquire perks by performing certain actions a certain number of times. So, for example, you might acquire extreme conditioning by sprinting for a certain distance during online gameplay. This rumor is unverified. This game is a jewel among third person shooters/action games for the Xbox 360. In single player, you will be amazed at the attention to detail as you see the armor load, the landscapes spread before you, and the bullets fly, making holes and ricocheting off of metallic surfaces. Marcus Fenix and his partner Dom, straight from Gears of War 1, return to battle round 2 with the Locust Horde, who is now threatening to destroy the last human stronghold, Jacinto. The story pretty much picks up where Gears 1 left off, and you join Marcus and Dom in Jacinto the day before the invasion of the locust home world, the underground. Read more…

The MSI R4850 is similar to many other HD4850 based graphics cards that are now out in the market. The only difference is that MSI decided to deviate from stock cooler design and gave it a bigger and better looking GPU cooler. So, if you have a transparent cabinet, this card can add some eye candy with it’s shiny copper heat pipes.
First thing first, the heart of the HD 4850 is a 55nm, RV770 chip that has 800 stream processors running at 625 MHz. You would think that the card is something that runs hot, especially since other cards that use ATI’s reference design do so. This card however, has a custom cooler, and runs cool and quiet. Playstation has delayed the long-awaited launch of it’s PS3 title Little Big Planet. The reason for this is the discovery that background scores in the game are offensive to some users. This was brought to the notice of Playstation by some users on their forum.
In the run-up to the launch, users said “Muslims consider the mixing of music and words from the Koran deeply offending. We hope you would remove that track from the game immediately via an online patch, and make sure that all future shipments of the game disk do not contain it. ”These were with regards to lyrics and music of the track Tapha Niang by African kora player Toumani Diabate. Conceived out of two Radeon HD 4870 GPU cores on a single PCB, the HD 4870 x2 is a monster to be sure. It features 1600 SPs (800 from each 4870), and features an unheard 2 GB of GDDR5 memory that operates at a whopping 3600 MHz. The phrase gross overkill comes to mind. AMD has gone all out with this one, and the 4870 x2 is supposed to do what the single GPU version couldn’t – dethrone the mighty GRX 280 and restore ATI’s place at the helm of the 3D performance realm again – a position it has not gained after it’s now ancient 9800 Pro cards.
