Gears of War 2 – Xbox 360 game review

This game is a jewel among third person shooters/action games for the Xbox 360. In single player, you will be amazed at the attention to detail as you see the armor load, the landscapes spread before you, and the bullets fly, making holes and ricocheting off of metallic surfaces. Marcus Fenix and his partner Dom, straight from Gears of War 1, return to battle round 2 with the Locust Horde, who is now threatening to destroy the last human stronghold, Jacinto. The story pretty much picks up where Gears 1 left off, and you join Marcus and Dom in Jacinto the day before the invasion of the locust home world, the underground.

In multiplayer, you will have a large variety of multiplayer games to play, including the ones you will remember from Gears 1: Warzone, Execution, and other combat game types. However, new to Gears 2 is the addition of several objective based games, including territories, king of the hill, and guardian.

Also, I hope you are ready to slaughter wave after wave of hoard soldiers in the new hoard mode, which is probably the most brilliant addition to Gears 2. Battle 50 waves of the locust horde to finish the mode, which is harder than you might think, even on the easy setting!

So, is Gears of War 2 a game to own for the Xbox 360? Well, if you enjoy all the elements of a good shooter, like the action of combat based games like Halo and Call of Duty, and enjoy slaughtering human-killing creatures who are on a mission bent on humankinds very eradication as a species, than Gears of War 2 is a priceless addition to any gaming library.
